I remember watching the original Battlestar Galactica series on TV early in the 80s. Next to with snippets of the cartoon version of Star Trek, I think its one of the earliest TV memories I have, along with - I must confess - the trauma of watching Battle of the Network Stars. But I digress, it seems fans of the original series should stay away from the SCI-FI channel's new mini-series. From wired:
